ARE WE EVER?
Natalia Santos, a screenwriter and director from northern Mexico, hails from Saltillo, Coahuila. With a degree in Marketing and Communication, she began her career in advertising agencies, gradually transitioning into the audiovisual industry.
As an artist and filmmaker, her work is influenced by a mix of cinema and musical theater, offering a fresh perspective with a preference for exploring antiheroes. Her career highlights include directing plays for Microteatro Monterrey, earning awards such as “Best Director,” “Best Play,” and “Audience Choice.” She has also directed short films that have been selected for festivals like MIAX Guadalajara.
As a screenwriter, her most recent short film, Marinitas en crisis, was a semifinalist in the Shorts México Screenplay Competition, where it was workshopped by Guadalupe Granados. She is currently working on her debut feature film, Macdeath, delving into the horror genre and already the recipient of a “Creative Consultancy” award from La Excepción Boutique Creativa.

SYNOPSIS

SYNOPSIS
Marina is about to turn thirty and is going through the infamous and dreaded 30s crisis: she feels like she hasn’t done “anything” in her life that’s worth it, she’s not growing professionally, and it seems like the only things increasing, aside from her age, are her insecurities.
After more than five years at the restaurant, her work isn’t recognized the way she’d like, and during interviews, she keeps hearing that she’s “still too young” to be a chef. Feeling stuck, she decides that even though she has no plan for what to do with her life, she’d rather quit her boss at all costs that very night—adding her personal touch to the restaurant’s anniversary dinner.
